Vinny Raucci, Jr.

In 2007 we added a car to the Raucci Racing team – my son. Vinny jr. made his debut in the Bandolero division as a rookie driving the #9.11 car that featured an American flag wrap. Unfortunately, Vinny jr. had a mishap with the wall and the wrap was destroyed. Now still with the #911 he bears the white paint scheme with a new sponsor Aqua Perfect.

The #911 is significant because it is his birthday, September 11.

Along with duties as the crew chief for the #69 Charger, Wendy Gregory, has stepped up to help Vinny jr. in his quest to become a top Bandolero driver.

We thank Wendy for her expert knowledge and patience.

Our goal for 2008 is to have this car finish all the races this season without it costing us a fortune to fix it.

We finished the 2008 season with an impressive 8th place finish in points. I think I have finally found the gas pedal and I feel comfortable in the car. Look for us in the 2009 season to be stronger. My goal is to get into the top 5 in points so I can get one of those fancy trophies.

In 2008 we added another sponsor to our Bandolero – The Balloon Lady. Thank you Fabian & Sue Bray.

Special thanks:

Ø       We need to thank Jacob Bishop RacingSean Bishop for all your continuous hard work and help with Vinny Jr.’s car. Also to Jacob thank you for trying to give Vinny jr. some pointers on how to drive the Bandolero.

Ø       Wendy Gregory – I want you to know how very special you are. Thank you for always being patient with me when I can’t understand my dad. Thank you for not yelling at me but trying to reason with me on how to do something. Just plan and simple thank you for being there.

Ø   I would also like to thank our newest member to our team in 2008, Darin Jordan . Thank you for all the help this year.

Ø       Thank you to Pete Meyer from Aqua Perfect. He repainted the car after the wrap was destroyed. This was no easy task. We had a new body that need to be sanded and painted. Pete’s motto is just go out and drive the car and we’ll keep fixing it. Pete, thank you very much for everything you do.

Ø       To my sister Bridgette, I know we fight a lot but I do love you and admire you. Thank you for being so understanding when we can’t make it to the soccer field to watch you play and thank you for running from the game to get out to the race to cheer me on.

Ø       Finally to my mom, I know it hasn’t been easy but thank you for sticking in there. Thank you for not putting me in my room and not letting me out ever again after I crashed into the wall - the race car is really safe Mom. Hopefully this year I can finish the season without having to ask for more money to fix the car. I love you!
